Hearts with Voids
To strive for a cause, to struggle for it with all of one’s heart, to be willing to give one’s life for it, one must have a firm conviction that things are not as they ought to be. Although most people have this feeling from time to time, it is not potent enough to make the average individual dedicate his energy to it. Only a lingering sense of anguish that remains constant can manifest powers of conviction rarely seen throughout history.
This essentially means that only those souls can bend the destiny of the world who constantly feel as if something is amiss. Despite having all the comforts in the world and living lives free of all immorality which causes the soul to be in a state of torment, such people never feel at ease. Even if they themselves are at moral ease, seeing the state of things around them causes them immense distress and mental suffering: they have voids in their hearts.
In such situations, there are only two paths that such persons can take: drown in their pain and sorrow and be lesser than a dot on a canvas the size of the universe, or they can rise above it and struggle to bring their wills and ambitions to reality.
The average and the gifted can be divided into two classes. The average will breeze through life relatively straightforwardly, especially when it comes to outlook on life, and will rarely face dilemmas that break the foundation of his thinking. This is unless he frees himself from all moral and spiritual responsibilities that render even the most indifferent among men to utter madness. On the other hand, the gifted will constantly face mental turmoil and find the pillars of their beliefs tumbling down each time they come across a new concept that interests them even slightly.
Due to their strong deduction and thinking capacities, these gifted individuals are always thinking in abstract terms. The ideas they ponder upon are not simple binary concepts either. The concepts that they involve themselves in are highly nuanced and almost always related to the practical affairs of society in one way or another. But practical affairs and extreme complexity do not go hand in hand. There is no way to see whether their theories work or not as they cannot be applied to society in most cases. Since they can never prove whether they are true in their speculations or not, they constantly move to and fro from one polarity to another and end up hurting their own selves in the long run.
Considering that modern media is designed in a way to break people’s identities for the personal gains of a select few, the effect mentioned above is further exacerbated.
In a way, nature weeds out the weak from the strong in this group of gifted individuals. Those who possess a strong enough character to withstand the hardships and dilemmas of thinking are the ones that rise above and fight for a cause that they have no doubt in and believe in fully; whereas the weak crumble under pressure from external forces and end up becoming meaningless in the process of steering the destiny of the world. Consider it an examination conducted by nature to choose the men of a ship known as fate. The crew of this ship is responsible for the direction in which society moves into in the future, and it is their job to keep this ship free from all malignant elements and parasites who will do all that is in their power to move it in the direction of a dark and terrifying storm to engulf everyone in its waves of degeneracy.
